One Direction announce upcoming 3D concert movie on NBC’s Today Show in NYC

One Direction heartthrobs Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Harry Styles joined together on the “Today” show in Rockefeller Plaza, New York City on Tuesday (November 13. 2012). The boys took the stage to perform some of their hit songs in front of thousands of screaming fans, breaking the morning show’s attendance record with an unprecedented crowd of 15,000 viewers. Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik teamed up with their One Direction groupmates Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson to treat their fans to a smattering of smash hits including “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Little Things” and “Live While We’re Young.” The British boy band also used the “Today” show as a platform to inform One Directioners of a 3D concert movie, following in the footsteps of Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. “We are going to do our first-ever movie and it’s going to be in 3-D and it’s coming to cinemas near you on the 30th of August, 2013,” Niall Horan told the rapturous crowd. The movie directed by “Super Size Me” filmmaker Morgan Spurlock will give fans an all-access, behind-the-scenes look at the quintet.
