Legislative Committee Gathers Public Input to Implement Marijuana Law 80 people signed up to speak at the first public forum Tuesday held by the Marijuana Implementation Committee. This legislative group heard from lawmakers, caregivers, and public health officials about their concerns on transitioning Maine into a legal marijuana marketplace. The Maine legislature delayed retail marijuana sales until February of 2018. Michal Kielbasinski, a Polish adventurer who’s in the middle of a grueling, 1,600-kilometre backcountry run through Yukon and Alaska, is also in the middle of a conundrum — the going’s getting tougher, and he’s not sure he can go on. “So the question is, what now? And I will have to think about it. Metropolitan Market ventures into the suburbs with Sammamish store

Some portions of the new Sammamish Town Center store will be larger than at the chain’s half-dozen other locations, because households in the area tend to be larger, says Todd Korman, the grocer’s president and CEO. By Seattle Times business reporter Upscale grocer Metropolitan Market is also scaling up for its new Sammamish store. The Sammamish store, the seventh for the privately owned chain, will open March 22.
